Rodent Control
We can quickly stop costly damage from rats and mice and keep your family safe from health-related problems associated with these rodents. They used to call this process rat extermination but such lethal measures are not the only tool in our arsenal. If you are experiencing a current rodent or rat infestation in your home in North Georgia, have a dead rat in your structure, or have seen one around then give us a call. We will assess your issue over the phone or in-person, and many of our solutions are cost-effective! We try to work with you to solve your problem with the least amount of impact on your wallet. Our pest control service area in North Georgia extends as far south as Alpharetta, Crabapple, Duluth, Johns Creek, Marietta, Milton, Roswell, and Suwanee then going as far north as Ball Ground, Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Ellijay, Gainesville, and Jasper. If you are outside of these areas for our pest control get in touch with us! We make exceptions all the time!
We Hear You
You need someone that listens to you and identifies every issue possible. We are there to address your fears, to soothe you and to get busy restoring order to your home or office. We know to ask the right questions and document your concerns. Not only do we want to solve your current problem with your pest, but we also want to solve and prevent issues with any other potential nuisance.
The Inspection
You need a thorough inspection from ‘Top to Bottom, Inside and Out’. For most home and property owners, it is impossible to be aware of everything that is going on all the time. So WE are your eyes and ears, from creepy crawlspaces to ominous attics! We travel where you would rather not to get the ‘big picture’.
Estimate & Explanation
You need to understand where they are, the severity of the issue, what needs to be done to trap them and how we can prevent this and any future similar issues. This is when all of that is explained to you. Your options such as the cost of the work necessary to resolve the immediate issue, a price for other preventative work if we feel it could benefit you, and a price for feces cleanup (the need for this can be exceptionally rare, but we assess and consult accordingly). In all regards we are honest and transparent during this process, we do not use fear to sell you on anything, and if the situation is a simple fix the price reflects that. In case the work ends up being cost-prohibitive for our clients, we offer limited financing to help however we can.
Trapping
Trapping is typically a vital part of this process. We need to remove the current resident nuisance animal (or animals) and then we work towards preventing future entry or reentry.
We charge a FLAT RATE TRAPPING FEE for One (1) week of RAT trapping & Rodent Control. There is NO setup fee, NO per animal fee, NO need for an estimate or quote. The trapping fee is all-inclusive: Five (5) trips out, every single day (Monday through Friday) to set the traps, check the traps and to remove all rodents trapped. It is the law in the State of Georgia that the traps are checked every single day – No exceptions.
Daily trap checking is important for many reasons: 1) It’s the law, 2) Humane to the rats & mice but equally important 3) It enables us to make the most out of your trapping dollars by our Professional Wildlife Technicians having the opportunity to reposition any traps that are not productive and rebaiting if necessary.
The Exclusion
Exclusion is another way to say sealing your building. Even if you trap the current animal out there are pheromones in the feces, urine and in the dirt/oils they leave behind, which is attractive to other animals encouraging them to enter the same spot or find another opening on your structure. Our work is of the highest quality and it is done so as to not be visible or unsightly. We believe so strongly in our workmanship that all of our bat exclusions come with a 5-year guarantee, without any annual fees!
Some Basic Rat Info
Rats are opportunistic survivors that often live with and/or near to humans. Because of this, rats have spread to most parts of the world with Antarctica being the exception due to very little human presence there. At this point they are a part of our urban, sub-urban and rural life and in most cases its an issue of management and not eradication. Out in nature, they can be beneficial as a source of sustenance for predators. However, when it comes to them inside of our buildings or within the structure itself, there should not be any tolerance for their presence at all. This is because rats and their parasites can transmit quite a few diseases, and worldwide they contribute to massive food loss.
Rats become sexually mature at 6 weeks, but reach social maturity at about 5 or 6 months of age with their usual lifespan being roughly a year due to predation, however, if allowed they can live a few years. During a period of receptivity, a female can mate with hundreds of males and she experiences this about 15 times a year.
In the wild, rats tend to eat things like fruit, plants, seeds and are more likely to be vegetarians. However, city rats like to eat garbage and meat. They will consume pet food and just about any human food that they come across. They can also pose a safety risk. Rats’ front teeth grow 4½ to 5½ inches each year. Rats wear them down by continuously gnawing on everything around them, including cement, brick, wood, lead pipes, and other small animals. The damage & risks continue to rise as they remain in our homes.
You can see why rats are a real issue, and difficult to eradicate when they do spread to an area.
